Fear and Loathing.... 18 November 2000
Getting 'hammered' in the Luxor bar in Las Vegas
NYNY 18 November 2000
Sadly I didn't stay at the NYNY this time. It's my favourite place in Las Vegas...
Vegas Casinos at Night 18 November 2000
View of the Casinos from the Stratosphere.....
The most Romantic Hotel in the World... 20 April 2001
...not really if you are on your own on a business trip.... But still nice rooms in the Venetian....
Bellagio Pool 20 April 2001
The sea in front of the Bellagio....
Son et lumiere.... 20 April 2001
Kind of bizarre.... The real Eiffel Tower in Paris has become more glitzy with a mounted lightshow, like Vegas, while the Vegas Paris Casino tower stays in the classic look....
All that is missing is the water.... 20 April 2001
The Venetian has clear blue water running through its remade canals with its motorized gondolas.... All fake... But even the water is missing on this photo... And what is missing from the real Venice? The stench, the smell and the dirt..... Ah America will never get Europe....
I'm flying, Jack, I'm flying.... 21 April 2001
I loved the corridors in the Venetian... Looked like Titanic... the Strange Colours that my camera then produced gave it the real 'other side' look....
Business as usual 15 September 2001
Every single Casino had huge 'God Bless America' advertisements on them (see also other photo from that day), but it still was business as usual in Vegas when we were passing through....
Secret Capital of the US 15 September 2001
Every single Casino had changed their advertisements to 'God Bless America' and 'One Nation Under God'. God should be replaced by the green dollar of course.... The Radio said things like 'take your mind off this weeks events, go and buy something nice for yourself'..... I found all of that slightly obscene, knowing I was going to return two weeks later.....
Two weeks later.... 29 September 2001
...we were back in Vegas.... Surprisingly the NYNY hotel, a fake collection of all things NYC serves as a wall where people leave flowers, messages and roses.... in honor of the people in NY....
City of Sin 8 January 2002
View from the sky over Las Vegas.... Another year at CES....
Phase 2: LAS VEGAS 8 May 2002
After we arrived in Las Vegas and gulped down our food, we sat in the bar and the contrast between our long trip and Vegas decadence was taking its toll.... Even though it was just my birthday I banned the singing at that point.... I wanted to celebrate when we are all happy, fit and fresh....
Part 2 of the Night: Dinner at the Bellagio 8 May 2002
Dinner at Aqua in the Bellagio.... Pfui Gras....
Las Vegas from the air 16 September 2002
Great view on that day... You can identify each casino....
Miniature Vegas 11 July 2004
Due to the distortion of the airplane window's glass, this picture looks more like a miniature than the real thing...
Flight into Las Vegas 6 January 2007
Off to CES...
Casinos 6 January 2007
I always like the Skyline of Vegas...
Wynn 7 January 2007
The latest Casino in Vegas
Wynn Casino 7 January 2007
I like the shape of it. Behind it, it has a full golf course. I didn't go in, though.
The Venetian 7 January 2007
Being extended and growing...
The Riviera 7 January 2007
The Riviera is the Big Tuna of Casinos. A bit of a shadow of its former self and off the strip. Since I came to Vegas on short notice, I had to move to Riviera from the second night, since I didn't want to spend 500 dollars on a room. The bedroom in the Riviera was actually really nice and the location for CES still excellent.
What kind of animal is this? 7 January 2007
This is certainly the weirdest restaurant ad I have ever seen.
Vegas Colors 9 January 2007
Spot the Casinos!
