Landshut features a castle up in the hills. In order for the Church to be higher than the castle, they built this 130m brick tower, the tallest brick tower in the world...

It was actually really still early and large areas of snow extended down to 1500 meters. Underneath them the snow would be melting and it was easy to break through the snow and land with your feet in the mud...

Was to go through the middle there to a mountain lake - but there was still lots of snow that had been carried down by avalanches there and so we went up the Rauber and Saalkogel (2007m).

Many small peaks in vicinity with various difficulty grades and also a few mounted climbing routes (Grade D).

...more to climb... Not sure if HDR was the right thing to use here, by the way... The contrast itself is nice, though what HDR at least shows is a lot of detail in snow and structure....
Bochumer Hütte 1 June 2008
The old hut with the copper tower used to be a base for a mining colony up here that was used up until WW1. Now it belongs to the German Alpenverein.

HDR merges three images together: An underexposed image plus an overexposured image together with the normal one. The result is a combination image that shows details in the dark as well as the light areas of the photo.
