Golfing in Palm Springs 11 March 2000
I took a golf school out in Palm Springs... Though it was still march, the sun was boiling hot and I got a massive sunburn.... The view of the snow-covered mountains in the distance was fantastic, though.....

One of my favourite walks leads up through this cleft to a square overlooking vertical walls.... One of the walls is called 'Fleischbank' - the Butcher's table - impressive, but taking its toll on some climbers....

The Tongariro crossing is a one-way trip. So its best to leave your car in Taupo and then just take a bus that drops you off one side and picks you up on the other side.... You have plenty of time, so just let the largest crop of people walk ahead and stay back and enjoy more on your own....
