Boat cruise

||
| Margaret and Peter were able to quickly arrange a boat-trip for the day. It turned out to be our big luck, since on the next day the ice-floes were blocking the bay entrance. | ||

| Coconut is about 600 meters high! 5% of the berg are on top of the water - in this case about 30 meters. | ||

| Totally different shape... When we were close to it there was one side that looked unstable. Our Captain was very concerned - an iceberg this size breaking apart could create a big wave and easily throw the boat over. | ||

| He was a retired army major from the Danish Royal Coastguard. He told us lots of great stories. He would spend some weeks here in the winter skipping as a holiday. | ||

| Trampolines were all over Tassilaq. Many families had one next to their homes and kids were jumping on them. I guess it might have to do with the fact that you really need great jumping skills when riding a sled.... | ||

Dinner at the Red House
1 July 2008 | ||

||
| Margaret arranged a special dinner for us at the Red House, where Robert Peroni, a South Tyrolian expat has created a hotel and tourist facility there. First course was Seal. It was really quite good, but most of the blubber was too greasy for me... | ||
