Every day hundreds of school children visit the Hiroshima Children's Peace memorial to bring thousands of paper cranes that they folded.... Here you see a group of schoolchildren at the memorial...

I feel especially connected with this story. I had the privilege to perform as Sadako in a play about her. It was a good experience, and we had an exchange student from Japan in the show with us, to share her culture. I'm glad Sadako lived, even if it was for such a short while; she was a great example for the world.

This picture is just great. I support Sadako 100%!!!I read Sadako's book in just two days!!!! It was a heart warming book,just like herselve ,and the picture.

i feel sad for poor sadako..she should of lived...a poor..poor death..but she died peacefuly and everything was sad.....after awhile build a statue in honer..i pray for you.Sadako

i feel like sadako was my friend and that she told me her like she was right infront of me.when i frist time i read this story it made me want to cry and that this happened to a real girl and family a few years back
