Isabel doesn't like the WW2 memorial

Isabel doesn't like the WW2 memorial - National Mall - Isabel
Isabel almost rammed into one of the pillars of the newly built WW2 memorial - a memorial which to me looks monstrous and will block the view from the Monument to the reflecting pool to the Lincoln Memorial....

We,The vets of WW2, already have been memorialized by the Iwo Jima monument which vividly potrays the reality of that war. Any attempts to subordinate that national edifice will surely pale by any measure.
I am sorry to see the Austrian (Hitler's native country) block-type architecture incorporated in the WW2 memorial on the mall. I am 83 years old with cancer and a vet of the 1944 Normandy invasion. The real heros of that invasion lie in the French soil just a stones' through from the beach.

I think the National WWII Memorial is wonderful!! I wish my Grandpa was well enough to travel to see this Memorial like he had planned. I agree with Charles, it's about time! The Memorial doesn't block the view to the Lincoln Memorial but it does enhance the view and some things are more important than wether or not you can get a good picture. God Bless Freedom!! God Bless our Military, past and present!!

As the son of one of the men this monument honors, I have two things to say. First, it is about time, and almost too late for this monument to be viewed by the men and woment it represents. Second, it WILL NOT block any views on the National Mall. I think it is in poor taste that you try and state this inaccurate view point.
