Like marble...
There are many theories about what created the white dome rocks here at Canyonlands. One of the theories is that it was the site of a meteor impact.
 Somewhere down there, John Woo filmed the opening sequence for Mission Impossible 2.

Sadly we didn't get to see the full sunset as it suddenly got very cloudy....
Canyonlands Grandview point is a fantastic area... So we were almost all alone, snuggled up and watched the sun set.
 Back in Arches after I was there just after September 11 on my journey back from Denver....

We waited for a long time and descended in darkness. At the parking place I took this photo handheld for 2 seconds pressed against the window....

...and the wind stronger and colder.... We had to call it a day despite pullovers and jackets....
 Zion is nice, but a bit dull.... Nice colours though.... Our last stop in Utah....
 After lots of natural beauty a couple of much needed days of decadence....

This was probably the worst trip to NYC. I love the place, but I had been worn out from the travel and just wanted to be somewhere static for a while. Then it started raining. At least I had two hours in Central Park after my flight in, just sitting on a rock, pondering things....
